How to get to AGH University of Krakow?

Getting to the AGH from the Krakow-Balice Airport

The Krakow-Balice Airport is located 15 km from the city center. Here are the most common ways to reach the center:

  • Taxi – about 20 minutes, approx. cost: PLN 60 (EUR 13).
  • Bus – travel time around 40 minutes, approx. cost: PLN 6 (EUR 1.3).
  • Train – the station is 200 m from the terminal. A 15-minute ride to the Kraków Main Station costs approx. PLN 20 (EUR 4.3). From there, take bus 179 to the AGH University (approx. PLN 4, 10 minutes ride).

Alternatively, you can fly to Katowice (The Katowice Airport) and take a bus to Kraków (approx. EUR 13) or fly to The Warsaw Chopin Airport and continue by train (approx. EUR 40).

 

Getting to the AGH University from the Krakow Main Station

  • Taxi – approx. PLN 25.
  • Bus no. 179 – direct to the AGH University. Board at the “West Station” stop near Galeria Krakowska and get off at the 5th stop, “AGH” (about 12 minutes).
  • Tram + short walk through Krakowski Park. Take tram no. 4, 14, or 24 (direction: Bronowice Nowe) and get off at the “Plac Inwalidów” stop. A 5-minute walk through the park will lead you to the AGH University.
